PRE-SCHOOL 1
At the Pre-School 1 level, emphasis is placed on social-emotional development and skills of sharing, waiting one“s turn as well as being a member of a group. We feel that a good foundation is learning how to be a learner in a school setting. Emphasis at this level is also placed on language development. While the language of instruction is English, children at this age show their understanding and respond initially in their native language. The use of school tools such as scissors, crayons, brushes to develop motor skills form another area targeted for refi nement at this level.

PRE- SCHOOL 2
At the Pre-School 2 level children continue their work in language development, acquiring a large repertoire of songs, finger plays and rhymes. They are exposed to the written word daily as they share literature, experience language, and begin to recognize their names in written form. Math learning comes through concrete activities such as counting the boys in the group or the girls who have bows in their hair. Children begin to work with geometric fi gures as they practic making and interpreting patterns. Science and social studies offer themes of study, work. Specialists teach classes in Music, Movement, French, Art and Computer to both grade levels.
